Paper Conservator Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) seeks a paper conservator for its paper conservation laboratory. The position offers concentrated time at the bench in a spacious laboratory with highly skilled and friendly colleagues. The conservator will treat a wide variety of paper and parchment materials, including manuscripts, maps, printed materials, architectural plans, photographs, wallpaper, and works of art on paper. NEDCC paper conservators also work cooperatively with book conservation, imaging, and preservation services staff. He or she may also participate in outreach activities such as workshops, tours, and surveys. A degree from a graduate level conservation training program is preferred, although persons with equivalent experience may apply. In addition to bench skills, good written and oral English communication skills are required. Only persons with the legal right to work in the United States are eligible. The title and compensation for the position will be determined according to the qualifications of the successful applicant. Compensation will include an excellent benefits package. NEDCC is a regional conservation center located in Andover, Massachusetts, which is 25 miles north of Boston.
