An opportunity is available for a technician to provide technical
support, primarily to conservation of fine art, contemporary fine
art and media practice based programmes and facilities.  This will
involve preparation of materials and equipment for teaching sessions
as well as provide advice and demonstration to students in the use,
capabilities, techniques and safe operation of equipment, apparatus
and materials. You will also be responsible for stock, material,
tools and equipment maintenance and control.  In addition you will
be expected to contribute to the development of a range of plans to
address technical needs, health and safety practice, risk and
disaster management, resources as well as academic activity in
relation to teaching, research, consultancy and professional
practice.

To be successful in this role you must be able to work quickly and
accurately in the preparation of teaching facilities and have
previous technical experience of working in a similar environment,
such as a conservation laboratory. You will demonstrate excellent
knowledge of related processes, equipment, risk assessment, COSHH
and safe working practices. You will also have an ability to create
demonstrations and reference training materials for staff, students
and clients.
