The British Museum is currently looking to recruit a Metals
Conservator to work in the Department of Conservation and Scientific
Research, covering a period of maternity leave.

As a member of the team of conservators in the Ceramics, Glass and
Metals Section, you will assist with the practical conservation,
restoration and preservation of the museum's collection of
historical and archaeological metal artefacts for display, loans,
storage and research purposes.

You will possess a recognised professional qualification in the
conservation of historical and/or archaeological metal objects and
have practical skills in the conservation of metals. This will be
shown in your experience of the conservation of archaeological and
historical metals from a range of different periods and cultures.

On-site archaeological conservation experience and conservation
knowledge of other materials, for example ceramics and glass, will
also be an advantage.
