The BFI is the lead organisation for film in the UK. Since 1933 they
have cared for the BFI National Archive, and celebrated the best of
British and international filmmaking through festivals, film
restoration, DVD releases and cinema programming.

The ICON Photographic Materials Group committee are organising a
visit to the BFI Cold Store in Warwickshire on Thursday, 18 October,
2012. This is a great opportunity to see behind the scenes at one of
the UK's most important cold storage archives. The day includes a
guided tour of inside and outside of the cold store and background
talk, followed by a visit to a country pub for lunch, drink and
informal discussion about conservation of photographic materials and
environmental control.

This is a free event to the ICON members only. Numbers are limited
to 10 people and bookings are compulsory. Places will be allocated
on a first come first served basis, so please book early to avoid
disappointment.

Delegates need to cover all expenses such as travel costs, lunch and
drinks by themselves. Due to the site's remote location, delegates
are expected to drive or share a car with others.

For bookings or enquiry, please contact Saya Miles
<smilesconservation<-at->gmail<.>com> Please let Saya know if you are able
to offer lifts, or require one. Please wear warm shoes and
trousers--there are some warm clothing for visitors on site, but
please make sure that you wear warm footwear and socks.
