Senior Conservator
Conservation Solutions, Inc.

The Senior Conservator is responsible for working with Principals on
all phases of conservation assessments, treatments, and materials
testing/analysis projects, including: proposals, budgeting, planning
and logistics, and implementation (self-performing and/or directing
as needed).  The Senior Conservator will also be responsible for all
aspects of project management and administration.  This job will be
based out of the Washington Metro office.  The Senior Conservator
will typically be assigned to multiple projects concurrently, and
will be required to travel to different job-sites within the US and
North America. Typical projects may include historic buildings,
structures, sculptures, monuments, fountains, and objects.

The successful candidate possesses a minimum five (5) years
demonstrated experience in implementing conservation treatments in
the field. They candidate is a member in good standing in the
American Institute for Conservation (Professional Associate or
Fellow level); and holds a degree from an accredited university in
the field of conservation or historic preservation.

Specific Responsibilities include:

    Project Administration

    Preparation of cost estimates and project budgets

    Coordination of project contracts and insurance requirements

    Logistics and materials sourcing, planning, and ordering

    Staffing and schedule coordination

    Management of sub-contractors

    Treatment Implementation

    Quality control oversight

    Design of appropriate treatment and/or testing plans

    Preparation of drawings and specifications

    Materials testing and analysis

    Preparation of mock-ups

    Hands-on implementation or direction of conservation treatments

    Client Relationship Management and Marketing

    Communication and project coordination with the client
    representative

    Change order management

    Billing coordination

    Attendance at client meetings and preparation of reports

    Relationship building with existing and potential future clients

    Research, write, and present papers at professional conferences
    and publish articles in trade journals.
