Photographic Research Scientist
Imaging/Microscopy Technician (part-time)
The Image Permanence Institute (IPI)

    The Image Permanence Institute (IPI) is seeking a Photographic
    Research Scientist to join their staff. The Photographic
    Research Scientist will be the primary advocate for IPI's
    Graphic Atlas website, will initiate and implement all outreach
    activities, and will promote, cultivate and facilitate the
    conceptual and philosophical goals of the website and lab
    projects. Candidates should have knowledge of and a deep
    interest in the history of photography, including its processes,
    materials, and technologies.

    Experience working with photography and methods of visual
    communication is required. The Photographic Research Scientist
    will work with IPI staff to manage and oversee IPI's print
    characterization activities, including the development of
    written and graphic content for the Graphics Atlas website, the
    evaluation of imaging and microscopy techniques, and the
    coordination of project workflows.

    Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of three
    to five years' experience in advanced photography, and
    experience in research, writing, and professional presentation
    or teaching.

    Part-time Imaging/Microscopy Technician

    The Image Permanence Institute (IPI) is seeking a part-time
    Imaging/Microscopy Technician to join their staff. The Imaging /
    Microscopy Technician will be the primary person responsible for
    the creation and production of images and visual content for
    IPI's Graphic Atlas website. The technician will prepare and
    photograph samples with several copy-stand reproduction and
    photomicrography techniques, and will be responsible for the
    post-processing and formatting of the images to be added to the
    website.

    Experience with advanced photography, including work with
    digital documentation, photographic lighting techniques,
    microscopy and photomicrography, and digital image
    post-processing is required.

    Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of one
    to three years' experience in advanced photography, digital
    photography workflows and information/metadata management, color
    management, or managing a digital photography workspace. This is
    a currently a three-year, part-time position with a schedule of
    20-24 hours per week.
