The Conservation Center of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
(LACMA) is seeking a skilled individual to assist the professional
conservation staff in a variety of duties related to the
preservation and restoration of works of art, primarily works of art
on paper.

Essential duties and responsibilities: Preparing boxes, enclosures,
supports, and mats for works of art on paper and photographs.
Matting and hinging works of art for exhibition and loan including
fabricating micro-climate enclosures and exhibition mounts. Labeling
and rehousing of the permanent collections. Assisting conservation
staff with condition reporting and collection surveys. Other duties
may include general housekeeping, environmental monitoring and pest
management.

Minimum requirements:   Associate's degree or equivalent from a two
year-college or technical school and two years related experience
and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability
to use hand tools and artist's materials and to handle works of art
with extreme care and sensitivity. Basic knowledge of the equipment,
materials, and techniques used in the handling and treatment of
works of art is desirable. Good organizational skills, meticulous
work habits, and ability to follow instructions are essential.
