Book and Paper Conservators (2 positions) Lambeth Palace Library London UKP27,160 - UKP29,510 p.a. Permanent Full time Lambeth Palace Library is the historic library and archive of the Archbishops of Canterbury and the principal library and record office for the history of the Church of England. The Library's rich collections focus on ecclesiastical history, but are also important for an immense variety of topics, such as architecture, colonial history, local history and genealogy. We have two roles for book and paper conservators to work in the newly refurbished conservation studio set in the historic Morton 's Tower. You will manage, apportion and undertake hands-on work in all aspects of archive and book conservation, including historic manuscripts, maps and bound volumes for the 3 stake-holders in this consortium position: Lambeth Palace Library, Westminster Abbey Library and Monuments, and CERC. You should have a recognised qualification in paper conservation, along with significant post-graduate practical experience and excellent craft skills in the conservation of paper, parchment, seals, books and works of art on paper. You should also have strong project management skills and a track record of successfully completing high-quality conservation projects on time and to budget.
