Subject: Masters program at University of Malta
Masters courses on Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation of Stone and Wall Paintings at the University of Malta, Department of the Built Heritage, starting October 2012, have now been announced and online information and applications are available. A full-time (three semester) interdisciplinary programme leading to an MA in Cultural Heritage Management is aimed at persons wishing to enter the field of heritage management, and will provide a sound formation in the mediation of contemporary issues concerning cultural heritage resources, and practical skills that will help participants become effective leaders in this field. The course is targeted at graduates in history, archaeology, history of art, conservation, education and related disciplines. A three-year full-time programme leading to an MSc in the Conservation of Stone and Wall Paintings offers graduates a professional formation in the field, through an equal balance of theory and practice. Participants will have the opportunity to carry practical work on the painted vault one of the oldest and most important churches in the capital city, Valletta, Malta in collaboration with the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, as well as on other sites. The course is targeted at graduates in archaeology, history of art, conservation, sciences, architecture, engineering and related disciplines.
