It is one of the largest academic library services in the country catering for the needs of some 36,000 students and researchers, as well as academic staff. The University Library possesses 4 million printed items, one million microfilms, over 41,000 electronic journals, 500,000 e-books and a large number of databases. This post, in the Conservation wing of the Collection Care Team (part of Collection Management) is based in the John Rylands Library on Deansgate in Manchester city centre. The John Rylands Library houses the Special Collections of the John Rylands University Library which include numerous world-renowned manuscripts, archives and printed books.
