Conservation scientist/Materials scientist Centre de Recherche sur la Conservation des Collections (CRCC) The Centre de Recherche sur la Conservation des Collections, Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, is seeking a full-time conservation scientist/materials scientist. The appointee will hold a PhD, or equivalent, in a related science field (chemistry, biochemistry, physics, materials science). The appointee will conduct research into non-invasive and micro-destructive characterization of cultural artefacts. Priority will be given to optical and spectroscopic methods, especially the development of multispectral and hyperspectral imaging methods and its application to the study, documentation and analysis of objects and cultural heritage materials, including organic (leather, parchment, paper, phototypes, natural and synthetic polymers etc.) and inorganic (stones, fossils, iron gall ink, etc.) materials.
