Subject: Archives and Records Association Annual Conference
Archives and Records Association (ARA) Conference "Progression, Innovation and New Landscapes" Brighton 29-31 August, 2012 Registration is now open for the ARA 2012 conference which will take place in The Grand Hotel Brighton 29-31 August, 2012. The Conservation programme is very exciting this year with most current issues being addressed and discussed. There are sessions on decision making in conservation, risk assessment, storage environment and housing, practical sessions on parchment repair, pigments under investigation, conservation projects, leather treatments, moulds, audio formats, stationery binding, conservation to enable digitisation, case studies and much, much more. The three-day conference "Progression, Innovation and New Landscapes" has both Archives/Records and Conservation strands and includes the popular Information Market Place. Conference speakers will come to Brighton from the US, Germany and all parts of the UK. Social aspects include a Latin Evening Gala Dinner and a drinks reception at Horatio's Bar on Brighton Pier. A number of sea-view rooms are available and these rooms will be allocated first to reward early booking. The 2011 conference in Edinburgh was sold out and feedback was very positive--book now to avoid disappointment. See the full programme and biographies of speakers, and book online at <URL:http://www.archives.org.uk/ara-conference/the-ara-conference.html> I look forward to seeing you in Brighton.
