October 16-17, 2012

Organized by the Getty Conservation Institute

The Getty Conservation Institute is pleased to announce a two-day

conserving his monumental murals. A group of international speakers
will present the many different aspects of conservation,
transportation, installation, and presentation associated with some
of Siqueiros' most important murals in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and
Southern California.

The symposium will include a panel discussion and a visit to the
mural, America Tropical, painted by David Alfaro Siqueiros in 1932,
and recently conserved by the GCI in partnership with the City of
Los Angeles.

Papers will be presented in English and Spanish with simultaneous
translation.

Registration: The symposium is free of charge, however space is
limited. Participants are encouraged to reserve their place in
