Subject: Oddy test results for felt
Lindsey Tyne <ltyne [at] themorgan__org> writes >A curator has recently asked if felt (wool or synthetic) can be used >inside exhibition cases. Has anyone used the Oddy test to assess >felt for use in exhibition cases? If so, what were the results? Last week I performed an assessment at a museum with felt lined exhibits. One display case had a serious pest infestation living happily on the wool felt. Even if a fabric passed the Oddy test there would be other reasons why felt would be low on the list of good display options. Rachael Perkins Arenstein A.M.
