Senior Conservator Paper and Textiles National Museum of Australia The National Museum of Australia is seeking a Senior Conservator to lead the Paper and Textiles team. Senior Conservator, Paper/Textiles: Is (responsible for the day to day operations of the Museum's paper and textiles conservation team and for collaborative work between this team and other conservation teams, and this team and other areas of the Museum. Is responsible for the timely delivery of the team's work, responsible use of resources and tracking and reporting of the team's work. Manages and monitors the performance of team members, and ensures the team's compliance with WHS 2011 and APS Code of Conduct. Carries out conservation treatments and is actively engaged in conservation and preservation decision-making, in consultation with curators, Registration and Exhibitions. Works with the Head of Conservation and other Senior Conservators to establish the right mix of skills and knowledge across the Conservation section Ensures that he/she has sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to undertake his/her work safely and that employees in the Paper/Textiles Conservation team are provided with sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to enable them to perform their duties safely.
