Scholarship Historic Royal Palaces Master of Research in Heritage Science UCL Centre for Sustainable Heritage University College London UCL Centre for Sustainable Heritage is offering a scholarship, funded by Historic Royal Palaces, which is open to students accepted onto the MRes in Heritage Science. The scholarship covers the course fees for a UK/EU student and a stipend of UKP10,000 a year for living expenses. Over the two-year period of the course, the successful applicant will spend eight months at UCL, studying towards the MRes Heritage Science degree and 16 months at Hampton Court Palace carrying out scientific research to support the HRP conservation research project on the environmental protection of the Tudor tapestries in the Great Hall and Great Watching Chamber at Hampton Court Palace. Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace. The Conservation and Collection Care department, through the conservation of the artefacts and palaces in our care, help tell the stories of the five sites to more than three million visitors every year. The MRes Heritage Science at UCL Centre for Sustainable Heritage is an interdisciplinary programme that takes an innovative approach to the teaching of 'hard' science subjects by taking cultural heritage as its context.
