Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in Paintings Conservation
Indianapolis Museum of Art

The Indianapolis Museum of Art is pleased to offer a Samuel H. Kress
Fellowship in paintings conservation for a one year appointment
beginning September 2012. The Fellowship includes a $27,000 stipend
with benefits, subject to taxes.

The Fellow will examine, analyze, document, and treat selected
seventeenth-century Dutch paintings for the forthcoming systematic
catalogue of the Museum's collection. The Fellowship is well suited
for recent graduates of recognized training programs, ideally one to
three years out of school in order to broaden their experience in
technical examination, bench treatments, and understanding of
scholarly and conservation issues. The Fellow will be supervised by
the Chief Conservator and will work closely with an
interdisciplinary team of paintings conservators, art historians,
and conservation scientists.

The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized graduate
conservation program in the U.S. and Canada, or a U.S. citizen
graduating from graduate-level conservation programs abroad who has
strong conservation skills, preferably with some experience in
examination, analysis, treatment, and art historical knowledge of
Old Master paintings. The candidate must be eligible to work in the
U.S. and have excellent English written and oral communication
abilities.

To apply, please send a letter of interest, a CV, three letters of
recommendation, copies of examination and treatment reports with
images, and examples of published work by electronic attachment to
the IMA's

    Human Resources department
    hr<-at->imamuseum<.>org

by June 15, 2012.

Interviews will be conducted by phone and, as needed, via electronic
media in mid to late June, 2012 with final decision anticipated in
early July, 2012

The IMA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
