Assistant Conservator, Photography The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Kansas City, Missouri The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is recognized nationally and internationally as one of America's finest art museums. In 2006, the museum acquired the Hallmark Photographic Collection, considered the most broad-ranging and important private collection of American photography. The collection spans the entire history of photography, from 1839 to the present, with works by such renowned pioneers and masters as Southworth and Hawes, Carleton Watkins, Timothy O'Sullivan, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Alfred Stieglitz, Dorothea Lange, Harry Callahan, Lee Friedlander, Andy Warhol and Cindy Sherman. To care for this collection we are searching for an Assistant Conservator, Photography who will have primary responsibility for the physical care of the photography collection with a lesser emphasis (based on professional qualifications) on caring for the collection of works of art on paper.
