AIC Photographic Materials Group/ICOM-CC Photographic Materials
    Working Group joint meeting
February 2013

The American Institute for Conservation Photographic Materials Group
(AIC-PMG) and the International Council of Museums Conservation
Committee Photographic Materials Working Group (ICOM-CC PMWG) will
meet together in Wellington, New Zealand, in February 2013.  It will
be the first time either group has met in the southern hemisphere.
Each organisation will share in the programme.

It will include three days of conference and two days for workshops
and tours to see projects, facilities and collections. The joint
meeting brings together the world's practitioners in the field of
photographs conservation and will be of interest to conservators,
curators and collection managers.  The meeting combines the biennial
PMG Winter Meeting with the triennial ICOM-CC Interim Meeting.
Please plan early to attend.  Additional information about related
events and activities will follow.

Submissions of papers on all aspects of photographic preservation
and conservation are welcome, including:

    Examination
    Analysis
    Documentation
    Preservation and treatment of historic to contemporary materials
    Storage
    Exhibition
    Digitisation
    Ethics
    Sustainable practices
    Challenges of current economic restraints
    Environmental disasters or threats

Proposals for themed sessions, panel discussions, preservation and
remedial treatment tips are welcome. Presentations should be
tailored to around 20 minutes in length, with written papers of
approximately 3000 words to be included in proceedings published in
the 2013 issue of Topics in Photographic Preservation (Volume 15).

The deadline for submissions is 1 August 2012. Please send your
abstracts for papers, including the following:

    Title.

    Author(s) name(s) and contact details.

    A summary of the paper, outlining its purpose, methodology,
    principal findings and conclusions, not exceeding 300 words.
    Abstracts will be evaluated by the PMG Program Chair and the
    PMWG Coordinator and Assistant Coordinators. Please email your

On receipt of an abstract, authors should receive an email
confirming the receipt of their submission. Notification of
acceptance for papers will be confirmed by 14 September, 2012. There
will be a call for poster submissions in June 2012 and registration
will open in October.
