Call for papers
Chinese Heritage Conference III 2012 - Porcelain and class
National Maritime Museum
Greenwich, London
2 November 2012

The 3rd conference in this series will explore the porcelain and
glass of China and East Asia. Over many centuries the connections
between east and west have created significant collections, both
public and private, reflecting the quality of the objects and
underlying scholarship. Building on the successful format of the
previous conferences, we shall explore the subject from a variety of
viewpoints, all contributing to greater understanding. There have
been few opportunities to bring together these diverse topics to
illuminate the subject:

    History and connections
    Historic and contemporary objects
    Trade between east and west
    Techniques and materials
    Conservation

We are calling for contributions as academic papers, reviews of
work, demonstrations etc. The conference will be of interest to
private collectors, curators, conservators and historians. The
previous conferences in the series have been Conservation of Chinese
graphical collections, 2010

Where appropriate, we aim to make the presentations available on the
website or as a publication.
