An excellent opportunity for a skilled painting conservator to apply
his or her skills in the vibrant Asian art market. The
responsibilities include relating to clients, assessing damages,
writing quotations, condition reports and treatment proposals, and
conducting professional high-standard conservation with time and
cost consciousness. We are seeking a professional who has cultural
sensitivity, strong ethical standards and experience working for the
private market.

The position is ideal for someone looking to move to Asia with its
fascinating regional diversity of artworks, and to commit to a long-
term exciting change for his or her professional and personal
development. This is a salaried job for 2 years, with options for
continuation and equity in the company after the 2 years. Position
will continue to be advertised until filled. Starting date ideally

Qualifications:   The Candidate must be:

    Well-trained in painting conservation, and experience in
    conservation of artworks on paper would also be desirable. At
    least 3 years experience in the private market is required.
    Emphasis is on contemporary art, as historic artifacts reaching
    the studio are generally not older than 100 years. Laboratory
    research is rarely conducted. Solution-oriented, hands-on
    intelligence is necessary.

    Mature and experienced with pleasant social and communication
    skills, and have the ability to speak and write clearly and
    professionally in English. The job includes giving advice to art
    collectors, galleries, auction houses, insurers and
    institutions, and raising awareness how to prevent damages and
    stabilize cultural material under tropical climate conditions.

    Willing to move on short notice to Singapore.
