Subject: Textile conservators in Middle East sought
**** Moderator's comments: Please respond directly to the author. We are looking for contact information ASAP for textile conservators in Riyadh to ensure proper care and compliance to Federal procurement guidelines on outsourcing conservation treatment of our historic collections abroad. The State Department has in the Embassy in Riyadh a hanging work of art that is a sculptural carpet composed of monotone wool made to look like shifting sand dunes, which has 25-30 years worth of grime and exhibit exposure and requires a conservation assessment and stabilizing treatment. The preference is to minimize risk from handling and transport by finding the best and most local option available in Riyadh or surrounding countries.
