Workshops on Book Conservation 2012 Book Conservation Services Northampton, UK Lead Instructor: Karen Vidler Senior Book and Paper Conservator Workshop 1: Conservation of Leather Bindings Suitable for: Bookbinding and Conservation students. Experienced Book and Archive Conservators. This four-day workshop is a combination of lectures, demonstrations and practical work. Program will include: Documentation and examination; Ethics and treatment options; Treating degraded leathers; Board reattachment techniques; Selecting, paring and dyeing leathers for repair. Workshop 2: Individual Book Conservation Training Suitable for: Bookbinding and Conservation students. Experienced Book Restorers and Book Conservators. This four-day workshop will focus on each participant's specific book conservation project. Individual instruction will be given. Program will include: Treatment options and repair techniques applicable to each project. Participants will discuss their project with Karen before commencing the workshop. Administriva for both workshops: Language: All workshops will be delivered in English. Dates: Over two weekends by mutual agreement.
