Objects Conservator

International Conservation Services Pty Ltd is Australia's largest
private conservation organisation, employing 25 staff including 15
conservators.  We are currently looking to fill two professional
positions based in our Sydney, Australia conservation workshops.
Both are permanent salaried positions for appropriately qualified
conservators committed to high quality conservation work for a
diverse range of private and institutional clients on a commercial
basis. Applications from Australian citizens or permanent residents
are preferred, but we will consider applications from conservators
requiring an Australian work visa.

Objects Conservator

    4-7 years experience post-graduation required.
    Membership of AICCM or equivalent professional organisation
    expected.

    Undertake conservation of a diverse range of materials,
    including metals, ceramics, glass, plastics, timber and
    organics, and objects including decorative arts, social history
    artefacts, sculptures, archaeological materials, heritage
    collections, industrial artefacts and outdoor artworks.  From
    time to time, the workload also includes the conservation
    treatment of finishes or elements on monuments, memorials or in
    buildings.

    Undertake condition assessments, identify appropriate
    conservation treatments and prepare quotations for clients,
    carry out treatments, and write succinct conservation treatment
    reports.

    Position reports to Senior Objects Conservator.

    Salary range A$57,342 (C4) to A$63,964 (C7) plus 9%
    superannuation

Senior Textiles Conservator

    7 or more years experience post-graduation required. Eligibility
    for Professional Membership of AICCM required.

    Manage other staff and workload in the Textiles Conservation
    section.

    Undertake conservation of a diverse range of textiles, including
    artworks, tapestries, flags, costumes, embroidery, soft
    furnishings, upholstery, memorabilia, ethnographic textiles,
    leather, skins and pelts. From time to time, the workload also
    includes the conservation treatment of textiles in buildings.

    Undertake condition assessments, identify appropriate
    conservation treatments and prepare quotations for clients,
    carry out treatments, and write succinct conservation treatment
    reports.

    Position reports to Manager, Materials Conservation. Salary
    range A$69,430 (SC1) to A$82,780 (SC5) plus 9% superannuation
