This Icon Internship in Preventive Conservation Science is based at
English Heritage in London for 12 months. With an Educational
Bursary of UKP15,750 pa, the placement will run from late May or
early June 2012 and will be supervised by David Thickett. The focus
of the internship will be environmental management within the
context of preventive conservation, and will involve planning and
implementation of environmental monitoring programmes and
contributing towards the environmental management strategies and
research for English Heritage properties. Travel across England will
be required as well as some international travel. The placement
would suit an early-career scientist or a conservator looking to
develop their scientific skills; a recent recognised qualification
in objects conservation is essential for this internship. Applicants
must be able to demonstrate eligibility to live and work in the UK
