Workshop Fundraising for Collections Care in Museums Museum of Art - Fort Lauderdale One East Las Olas Blvd Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301 March 8-9, 2012 Instructor: Susan Mathisen, President, SAM Fundraising Solutions Sponsor: Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum, Seminole Tribe of Florida You have a collection, an object, or a building that requires conservation or specialized collections care. The need is there, the manpower is there, the money is not. The question is, "how will you find the funding?" The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum of the Seminole Tribe of Florida with the partnership of the Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, will be hosting this two-session workshop. At the workshop, participants will be introduced to fundraising for collections care. Topics covered will include telling the project's "story" and making the case for collections care, demonstrating project impact, types of funders for conservation and preservation projects, prospect research, and grant writing tips. Participants will be asked to draft a sample proposal that will be discussed in the second session. The workshop cost will be $75. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the oldest and most famous museums in the world.
