Materials Conservation Collaborative LLC (MCC)
<URL:http://www.mccollab.com>, located in Philadelphia, (formerly
Milner and Carr Conservation LLC) provides professional services,
both on-site and in-house for the conservation of architecture, in
situ art and movable objects. The firm's mission to preserve
material heritage is achieved through our ability to design and
implement appropriate responses to conservation issues. Our services
include documentation and condition assessment, material testing and
analysis, conservation treatments, monitoring and maintenance, and
art handling and installation.

MCC seeks to fill the position of objects conservator. MCC provides
conservation assessments and treatments on a wide variety of
materials including, ceramic, wood, metal, plaster, and stone - as
well as a wide variety of artifacts ranging from architecture,
decorative arts, archaeological objects, sculpture and contemporary
objects. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 15
conservators and conservation technicians.

The successful candidate must have an advanced degree in art
conservation with a specialization in object conservation or
comparable training with a minimum of five years postgraduate
experience. Preference will be given to candidates possessing strong
hand skills and experience with metals and architectural materials.

The position requires that the candidate have effective oral and
written communication skills, ability to work to deadlines and work
both independently and collaboratively. This position involves
occasional travel and working in the field with a wide variety of
site conditions. Experience in private practice is strongly
preferred.

This is a full time salaried position. Benefits include
medical/dental insurance, disability insurance, vacation and holiday
pay, and an optional 401 (K) retirement program. Salary is
commensurate with experience.
