"Living in the present"
Workshop on Alternative Processes
The Hybrid Present
A funny attempt to comprehend the history of photography

Overwhelmed and delighted by the abundance of knowledge that has
accumulated the photographic device, we have developed an hybrid
exercise that allows us to understand photography simultaneously
using one of the most oldest and the most recently photographic
processes. As the idea suggested both a journey into the past as an
invention of the future, we have decided that there's no better
excuse for an exercise like the present.

"Living in the present" is a workshop in which participants can
think over the immediate situation of digital photography at the
time and place where they are now.

This issue will be studied using digital photography captured at the
moment or in digital files, depending on what participants wish to
use. The idea of the work process involves digital intervention
using Photoshop and Lightroom to understand how the manipulation of
a negative image can be affect its final result in the positive
print. The result will be a digital printed image in a transparent
film negative. Finally to understand the past, these negatives will
be used to produce salt papers and cyanotypes.

Requirements for participants: Participants should send his/her C.V.
and a portfolio to talleresdefotografos<-a t->gmail< . >com summarized in
order to determine the level of knowledge and experience of each
person. The workshop reserves the right to refuse admission. They
also will bring digital images to work in the digital lab, we
recommend that everyone bring your laptop to work on their own
files, the printing will done in Guillermo Santos's Mac computer.

Depending on the response and the availability of participants other
work schedules will be taking into consideration.
