The British Museum is currently recruiting for a Documentation
Project Assistant to work within the Department of Conservation and
Scientific Research. The post holder will help create, edit and
index digital records from documents and X-radiographic records from
the Departmental archives for inclusion in the MSRD (Mellon
Scientific Research Database). They will locate, enter and convert
data into a format suitable for importation into the database from
where the records will be linked to, and thus form part of, the
Museum's main on-line database, collections online.

Candidates should have a conservation, science or archaeological
background and experience in using databases and working with museum
collections. A high degree of computer literacy is essential and an
interest in conservation, the scientific examination of antiquities
or museum work would be advantageous.

The Museum is looking to appoint a candidate who is able to start as
soon as possible and interviews are likely to be held mid to late
November 2011.
