The Roshan Center for Persian Studies (RCPS) at the University of
Maryland, College Park will host the Third Biennial Ehsan Yarshater
Lecture Series during the week of 14 November, 2011 which is free
and open to the public. This year's theme will be of particular
interest to enthusiasts of Persian manuscripts, for Dr Priscilla P.
Soucek of NYU will speak on the topic of "The Bibliophile Impulse in
Iranian Art and Culture."  It will have the added distinction of
featuring a rich tapestry of rarely seen images from precious
manuscripts that highlight the art of the book in Iran's past.
