14th Annual Dr Harold Plenderleith Memorial Lecture "Digitally documenting the historic environment: challenges and opportunities" Queen Anne Room Edinburgh Castle Thursday 24 November 2011 6pm - 9pm The Icon Scotland group are pleased to announce details of the 14th Annual Dr Harold Plenderleith Memorial Lecture. This year's lecture is being given by David S Mitchell, Director of Conservation at Historic Scotland and will be held at the stunning Edinburgh Castle on Thursday 24 November 2011. The title of the talk is "Digitally documenting the historic environment: challenges and opportunities" and David will discuss the 3D laser scanning of historic buildings and sites and the possibilities that open up for remote access, use and interpretation. Sites in both Scotland and internationally that have already been scanned include Mount Rushmore and Rosslyn Chapel as featured in the Da Vinci Code. This promises to be a fantastic visual treat so book now.
