Senior Management Team Designated for the Harvard Library In December 2010, Harvard University embraced a series of recommendations for the future of the Harvard Library system. Ultimately, the University seeks to build the hallmark library of the 21st century, a cutting-edge, nimble organization that is collaborative both internally and externally. Since then, Harvard has designated both the governance and the senior leadership team for the new Harvard Library. On December 10, 2010, President Drew Faust announced the names of the first 10 individuals who will serve on the new Harvard Library Board. Composed of faculty members and administrators from across the University, the board will oversee the transition of the University's vast library system to a coordinated management structure. <URL:http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/ 2010/12/10-named-to-new-harvard-library-board/> On December 20, 2010, the University designated Helen Shenton, former head of Collection Care at the British Library and Deputy Director of Harvard's University Library organization, as Executive Director of the new Harvard Library. <URL:http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/ 2010/12/library-board-names-executive-director/> On June 24, 2011, Mary Lee Kennedy, Executive Director of Knowledge and Library Services at Harvard Business School (HBS), was named Senior Associate Provost for the Harvard Library. Sheehy previously served as Assistant Director of the University Library for the Harvard Depository. Wicks has been appointed Head of Information and Technical Services for the Harvard Library.
