This Icon Internship in Examination and Conservation of Egyptian
    Coffins
Fitzwilliam Museum

This Icon Internship in Examination and Conservation of Egyptian
Coffins is based at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge for 6 months.
Educational Bursary of UKP15,500 pa pro rata, planned to run between
December 2011 and- May 2012. Based with Julie Dawson ACR as
supervisor, the Marlay Internship focuses on the investigation and
conservation treatment of coffins and coffin parts from the
Fitzwilliam Museum's word-class collection of ancient Egyptian
material.  The intern will gain a wide range of skills and develop
an excellent understanding of the complex materials that present
challenging conservation issues. A recent, recognised qualification
in objects conservation is essential for this internship. Experience
with archaeological material as part of that qualification or
through work experience to an equivalent level of understanding and
practice is desirable. Note you must be able to demonstrate
eligibility to live and work in the UK for the duration of this
