Rust spot on painting

Iron charged water from a leaking pipe, accumulated approximately a
2 cm2 on 1 mm thickness rust spot on an oil painting on canvas. The
painting is dated to the 60's, the iron spot covers a mainly blue
painted area, where varnish is very thin. Suggested procedure and
particularly concentration of reagents used for similar cases will
be highly appreciated.
