Hirst Conservation

Hirst Conservation is a thriving business in the private sector,
specialising in a broad range of subjects including fine art,
wall-paintings, stone, and all aspects of architectural
conservation.

Two positions have arisen for a conservator whose role will mainly
be office-based (at our head office in Lincolnshire), assisting with
estimating and the preparation of tenders, but there will also be
opportunities to work on site. We are seeking conservators with
experience in conservation of stone, architecture, historic
plasterwork, monuments, fine art and decorative surfaces.  They
should also be able to write comprehensive technical reports,
condition surveys and treatment reports on a range of subjects. The
applicant will be expected to have knowledge of standards of best
practice within conservation documentation, in line with ethical and
procedural requirements of contemporary conservation practice, and
to be able to contribute written work of a high standard.
