Textile Treatment Conservation Supervisor Hampton Court Palace Ref:1203351 Once upon a time, it was royalty who admired the magnificent objects within the five historic royal palaces. Today, it is visitors who come to discover the fascinating stories behind these unique exhibits. To save these priceless artefacts for future generations, we need someone to join our team of highly skilled textile conservators This supervisory role will report to the Treatment Conservation Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day supervision management of textile conservation treatments, together with explaining and training for one (of three) textile treatment teams in the Conservation and Collection Care section of Historic Royal Palaces. The role will require delivering hands-on work of complex advanced-level conservation treatments and will supervise and mentor a team of three to four treatment conservators as well as interns and volunteers. The job requires advanced-level knowledge of conservation treatments and familiarity with reporting procedures, project management and budgeting, together with experience disseminating information, both written and spoken, to visitors, members and sponsors in both the public and private spaces of the palaces. Organisation skills to plan, schedule and delegate treatments are critical. The individual will need to co-ordinate delivery of work with that of the supervisors of the other treatment and preventive conservation teams across all palaces. Although based at Hampton Court Palace there will be an occasional requirement to work at other locations. Historic Royal Palaces endorses the Icon PACR accreditation scheme.
