Historic Scotland

Historic Scotland are offering funding for a fellowship to enable an
outstanding early career stage researcher the opportunity to
establish an independent research career in the field of heritage
science. Historic Scotland's Conservation Group undertakes technical
and scientific research in order to improve our understanding of
Scotland's built heritage, and to help improve the decision making
process when dealing with historic buildings or artefacts.

The theme of the call is: The effects of climate change on one or
more traditional building materials and development of conservation
strategies. Potential candidates should have no more than 5 years
postgraduate or postdoctoral experience.

The duration of the fellowship is expected to be no longer than 12
months (up to 2 years part time) and funding will primarily cover
the salary costs of the Fellow, travel and subsistence and
consumables.

The Fellowship will be subject to the standard Historic Scotland
terms and conditions for grant funding.

Funding is available for one Fellowship only.

The closing dates for submitting applications is: 30 September 2011
