Subject: American Institute for Conservation Collections Emergency Response Team (AIC-CERT)
Today, FAIC is sending a team of three American Institute for Conservation Collections Emergency Response Team (AIC-CERT) volunteer responders to Minot, North Dakota to assess the damage (estimated at $2.5 million) and recommend recovery procedures to save as much of the historic collections and architectural details as possible. The cost for this assistance, which includes travel, supplies, and coordination, are estimated at $8,000. FAIC had a small reserve fund for emergency response, which will be completely depleted. We seek your help to replenish this fund so we can provide prompt response to future emergencies involving museums, libraries, archives, and historic sites throughout the United States.
