Provides scientific information to assist in establishing preservation standards for archives such as the material appropriate for creation and storage of archival records, appropriate environmental conditions for records storage, reproduction processes, and material and chemical processes used to stabilize and preserve records. Develops performance and technical specifications to meet archival standards.
