English Heritage

Educational Bursary of UKP20,00 pa.

Based at English Heritage with Dave Thickett as lead supervisor,
this Fellowship is based around research into the use and
improvement of enclosures for displaying and storing heritage
collections.  English Heritage is a key member of the consortium
involved with the EU research project MEMORI - under the 7th
Framework Programme. The Fellow will be supported and monitored by
Icon under its Skills in Practice programme and can expect to focus
on a variety of research-based tasks involving the assessment of
cases, frames and storage enclosures. The placement would suit an
early-career scientist or a conservator looking to develop their
scientific skills and the successful candidate will be able to
demonstrate a strong interest in and enthusiasm for conservation and
