Subject: Call for speakers--Imaging in conservation
Final Call for Speakers "Imaging in Conservation: Looking at artefacts under new light" Organised by the Icon Archaeology Group and Icon Science Group STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Harwell Campus Oxfordshire OX11 0QX 10-11 November 2011 This seminar is the ideal opportunity to bring you up to date with new imaging techniques used for archaeological artefacts. Amongst others, computed radiography, laser scanning and 3-D printing are becoming more accessible and as a result are increasingly being used by the heritage sector. But what are the advantages and limitations? How does it work and how much does it cost? This two day event will cover a number of imaging techniques, feature case studies and give you the chance to see some of the equipment in action. You can even bring an object along and try it out on some of the equipment. The event will include a workshop on how to make a proposal to use the instruments at ISIS, Diamond, and other Large-scale facilities.
