The Dutch conservation association, Restauratoren Nederland, is
pleased to announce 2 days of lectures open to a large number of
conservators and a subsequent workshop limited to 20 participants,
on "The Modular Cleaning Program" developed and taught by Chris
Stavroudis. The Modular Cleaning Program provides a systematic
approach of decision making for cleaning works of art. It is a
database which aids in the choice of solvents, solvent gels and
water borne systems. The database assists the conservator in
combining stock solutions, specifying new cleaning solutions and
mixing combinations. During the lectures participants will be
introduced to cleaning theories and the use of the database.
Workshop participates will have the opportunity to apply what they
have learned during lectures at lab time. The participants will be
provided with a series of concentrated stock solutions for practice
and using the computer database they will learn how to alter the
solutions. The workshop participants will leave the course with a
set of stock aqueous solutions and solvent gels (travel arrangements
permitting).

The 2 lecture days alone cost Euro150 and the workshop including the
2 lecture days costs Euro500.00 for members of Restauratoren
Nederland and Euro 650 for non members.

Selection of participants will be based on the order of receipt of
registration.
