Sharjah Museums Department is currently redeveloping the Sharjah
Heritage Museum.

The collections will be rehoused in a newly renovated traditional
coral built house in the Heart of Sharjah City. The collections
include traditional items such as musical instruments, jewelery and
jewelery making tools, coins, paper money, stamps, plant material,
costume, date palm basketry, metalwork, weapons and ceramics. The
museum reopens at the beginning of December 2011. We require two
object conservators who can work with minimal supervision with
appropriate regard for health and safety to continue to prepare the
collection for display and provide suitable documentation. The
positions would start at the beginning of October 2011 at the
latest. Applicants should have a relevant qualification and should
have either good written and spoken English or good written and
spoken Arabic with basic English.

Salary is 8,000AED per month (approximately equivalent to 28,800
USD). For successful applicants from overseas, accommodation will be
provided and a return economy airfare.
