Studio Manager (Grade E+) City of London, London Metropolitan Archives Ref: HS028 Salary: starting at UKP36,330 pa. including Inner London Weighting London Metropolitan Archives <URL:http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk> is looking for a motivated conservation professional to provide vision and leadership for its conservation studio and programmes. The Studio Manager plays a pivotal role in the conservation services provided by LMA and will contribute to the development of the next stages of LMA's programmes to enable and expand access to its extensive and rich collections, which span over 85 km of material, in various formats, from parchment to digital media including printed books and art on paper. The Studio Manager will be required to modernise and standardise working practices in the studio and to motivate the conservation team to deliver a wide range of programmes reflecting the priorities of the archive service. Applicants will need to demonstrate extensive experience of conservation practice, decision-making and project planning. The postholder will ensure that the impact of the conservation service is effective at all levels of LMA's activities, that it delivers demanding high volume targets to impeccable professional standards. Applicants will be Accredited Conservators with significant post-qualification experience at a senior level; they will have managed large conservation projects and staff teams. They will be able to demonstrate strong presentational and team working skills. Exposure to practice in the commercial environment will be an advantage.
