Palaeontological Conservator
Palaeontology Conservation Unit (PCU)

    Salary range: UKP23,000 per annum plus benefits
    Contract: Permanent

    Reporting to the Head of PCU (Palaeontology Conservation Unit)
    you will be required to deliver hands on conservation and
    support across the department, particularly focussing on
    anthropology and vertebrate palaeontology.  You will be required
    to undertake conservation, preparation and replication projects
    and carry out surveys related to the collections.  The
    development of volunteer and intern teams is also a part of this
    post.

    The successful candidate will have experience in the
    conservation and interpretation of data of Natural History
    materials and the ability to replicate fragile and sensitive
    objects.

    A Degree (or equivalent) in Conservation is also essential for
    this post.

Preparator
Palaeontology Conservation Unit (PCU)

    Salary range: UKP23,000 per annum plus benefits
    Contract: 30 Month fixed term appointment

    The Department of Palaeontology are looking to recruit an
    experienced Preparator to undertake research preparation to
    support departmental research goals. You will be responsible for
    the maintenance of the PCU (Palaeontology Conservation Unit)
    Preparation equipment including the acid laboratory and will be
    expected to assist in technical support duties across the
    department.

    The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in
    mechanical and chemical preparation of a wide range of fossil
    types and the ability to document preparation work.

    Experience in technical support for laboratory facilities and
    the maintenance of preparation equipment is also essential for
    this post.
