Paper Conservator Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) seeks a conservation technician or assistant conservator for its paper conservation laboratory. The title and compensation for the position will be determined according to the qualifications of the successful applicant. Compensation will also include an excellent benefits package. The position offers concentrated time at the bench in a spacious laboratory with highly skilled and friendly colleagues. NEDCC paper conservators also work cooperatively with book conservation, imaging, and preservation services staff. The conservator will treat a wide variety of paper and parchment materials, including manuscripts, maps, printed materials, architectural plans, photographs, wallpaper, and works of art on paper. He or she may also participate in outreach activities such as workshops, tours, and surveys. The position will begin in September 2011. In addition to bench skills, good written and oral English communication skills are required. A degree from a graduate level conservation training program is preferred, although persons with equivalent experience may apply. Only persons with the legal right to work in the United States are eligible. NEDCC is a regional conservation center located in Andover, Massachusetts, which is 25 miles north of Boston.
