In regards to methods of keeping the original magnets without using resins, I would suggest the use of double sided tape. There are various types on the market, but I use one that I suspect is designed for installing carpet. It is very thin and semi transparent, but has high enough tack to hold the magnets in place. It also has a mesh reinforcement. The brand is TESA and I purchase mine from Woodworker's Supply: <URL:http://woodworker.com/ 1-wide-double-stick-nylon-tape-mssu-813-273.asp ?search=double%20sided%20tape&searchmode=2> **** Moderator's comments: The above URL has been wrapped for email.
