Paper Conservator Library Natural History Museum, London Salary: UKP27,999 per annum Vacancy reference: NHM/PCN/GS Location: South Kensington Employment type: Permanent Job family: Science Area of business: Science Closing date: May 15, 2011 The Library and Information Services department are looking to recruit an experienced individual to manage the day to day operations of the Paper Conservation Studio to ensure long-term preservation of the paper collections. You will assist in the preparation, installation, post display checks and repairs of material on paper for the Images of Nature Gallery and temporary exhibitions and the maintenance of conservation records. The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of paper conservation techniques and an understanding of the needs of users within a major research library. A Degree (or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in paper conservation is also essential. Knowledge, skills and experience: First Degree or equivalent Postgraduate qualification in paper conservation Member Institute of Paper Conservation or Institute of Conservation Professional Accreditation Evidence of competency in relevant paper conservation techniques and skills Strong communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Pragmatic approach to conservation (ie.
