Art on paper conservator Museum Conservation Services Ltd, UK MCS <URL:http://www.paperconservation.co.uk> has a vacancy for a conservator specialising in works of art on paper. You will work on a wide variety of paper based artworks of all media and dates alongside other conservators. Most of your work will be studio-based in our spacious and well equipped conservation studios at Duxford just outside Cambridge. Occasionally you may be required to work on site, for example when treating in-situ wallpaper, recovering fire or flood damaged items, condition reporting or surveying collections. This will involve travel both within the UK and, occasionally, abroad. The studio also carries out mounting, framing and some work on historic photographs. We do not expect expertise in all these areas--training will be given where necessary. Applicants must have a BA or MA or equivalent, specialising in paper conservation. A proven track record of working to fixed estimates, meeting deadlines and being able to work without detailed supervision would be an advantage. A willingness to carry on learning and developing is vital. Salary according to qualifications and experience. An additional discretionary incentive of UKP1,000 per year will be paid for living in the Cambridge area. Two days paid CPD per year. The successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the UK. A full driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
