Art on paper conservator
Museum Conservation Services Ltd, UK

MCS <URL:http://www.paperconservation.co.uk> has a vacancy for a
conservator specialising in works of art on paper.

You will work on a wide variety of paper based artworks of all media
and dates alongside other conservators. Most of your work will be
studio-based in our spacious and well equipped conservation studios
at Duxford just outside Cambridge. Occasionally you may be required
to work on site, for example when treating in-situ wallpaper,
recovering fire or flood damaged items, condition reporting or
surveying collections. This will involve travel both within the UK
and, occasionally, abroad.

The studio also carries out mounting, framing and some work on
historic photographs. We do not expect expertise in all these
areas--training will be given where necessary.

Applicants must have a BA or MA or equivalent, specialising in paper
conservation. A proven track record of working to fixed estimates,
meeting deadlines and being able to work without detailed
supervision would be an advantage.

A willingness to carry on learning and developing is vital.

Salary according to qualifications and experience. An additional
discretionary incentive of UKP1,000 per year will be paid for living
in the Cambridge area. Two days paid CPD per year.

The successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the UK.
A full driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential.

To apply please send a CV (including current salary if applicable)
