Paper Conservator
Te Papa
Wellington, New Zealand

We are seeking an experienced paper conservator to join Te Papa's
Conservation Team. You will work alongside another paper
conservator and the wider Conservation Team that includes objects,
textiles, paintings and preventive conservators.

This role works with paper-based items from Te Papa's wide range of
collections--art, photography, European history, Maori, Pacific and
even natural history collection items. You will support an active
programme of acquisitions, exhibitions, lending, touring and
collection care.

A recognised professional conservation qualification and at least
five years experience as a paper conservator in an art gallery or
museum environment is essential for this position.

In addition, you will enjoy working co-operatively with other
museum/gallery professionals and explore creative solutions to
making collections accessible in safe and culturally-appropriate
ways.

Experience working with the particular challenges of contemporary
artworks on paper, and some knowledge of new media, would be an
advantage.

This is a full-time permanent position.
